Finishing can be fun! Take control of your knitting with great finishing techniques, these transform 'homemade' into 'couture' knits.

Materials Needed ~ Fabulous Finishing

• Sewing needles - both blunt and sharp.
• A pair of knitting needles (or circulars) as used for the homework and a pair two size increments smaller.
• Scissors.
• Crochet hook.
• A couple of safety pins.
• Yarn - See details in Homework plus a small amount (5 g) each of two similar yarns, each in a solid contrasting color.

Homework ~ Fabulous Finishing

Three x 20 st wide pieces of Stocking stitch (knit a row, purl a row), worked in worsted weight yarn (approximately 4 sts per inch). Make two pieces approximately square and the third piece about 2" long. Use light colored, smooth yarn (NOT fluffy or fancy). If possible use the same yarn for each piece. Wool or wool blend is preferable. Please do not use any form of edge treatment, ie knit all the stitches on knit rows and purl all the stitches on purl rows. Don't neaten any ends. Leave the stitches live or on the needle.
